In amazing poetry have beautiful expression, named imagery, as the media of poets to describe his/her feeling, touch, seeing, hearing, in his/her poetry. This study explores the types of the imagery in Walt Whitman's poems; Song of Myself. Objective is the approach which is used in analyzing the poem. Hence, the outcome of this study is the interpretation of imagery purely in the Walt Whitman's poems. Consequently, this research utilizes the descriptive qualitative research methodology. The data is collected based on the line(s) or stanza(s) which contain the types of Imagery. 17 data are found as the result of this study. Therefore, the data is analyzed by using Hepburn's theory that categorizes the types of imagery into 7 categories. It is apportioned the data according to the theory of intrinsic element of poem. Furthermore, the exploration of the data finding is supported by the interpretation as one of the main points in this scrutiny. Therefore, the all data were substituted into 7 categories of imagery. They are Visual, Auditory, Organic, Tactual, Olfactory, Gustatory, and Kinesthetic. This research is constructively developing the study of literature, particularly in poem matter.
