Improving Students' ability in using simple present tense through matching card game" (A research conducted at first grade of SMPN 3 Pulubala class VIIB for academic year 2016/2017). The aim of this research is to find out whether or not "matching card game" method can improve students' ability in using simple present tense. In this case, the sample of this research is taken by using purposive sampling. The sample of this research was 20 students of the tenth of SMAN 3 Pulubala. The method of this research is pre-experimental method with concern pre-test, treatment and post-test. The instrument used in collecting the data is the multiple choices test to measure their comprehension in using simple present tense. Based on the result of the data analysis of students' comprehension in using simple present tense, the researcher found that the students' learning outcomes increased. The hypothesis is tested by using t-test formula. The hypothesis of this research is accepted, it because tcount is bigger than tlist (9.65>2.04) with the level significance = 0.05 and df = (n-1) = 29. Thus, by using the matching card game method can improve students' comprehension in using simple present tense.
