The English pop song as the medium of mastering vocabulary meaning, synonym, and antonym ( A research conducted at the second grade learners of SMP Negeri 2 Pulubala in the 2015/2016 academic year). This research aims to investigate and to find out whether the English pop song can increase learners ability in mastering vocabulary or not. The participant of this research was the second grade learners of SMP Negeri 2 Pulubala particularly the class of VIIIB which consist of 24 learners. This research used pre-experimental method by applying one group pre-test and post-test design. In collecting the data, this research used a multiple choices test that consist of 22 questions that refers to 3 indicators of vocabulary: meaning, synonym, and antonym. In analyzing the hypothesis this research, it used t-test formula. The criteria used to verify the hypothesis was rejected H0 if tobservatio lower than tlist. As the result, it was found that tobservation was higher that tlist. (12.91 > 1.714) by using the level significance =0.05 and degree of freedom df = (n-1) = 23. Finally, it can be concluded that the hypothesis of this research is received. It implies that the use of song medium can increase learners ability in mastering vocabulary.
