The aim of this research is to map out the struggle of competing inheritance in novel Sparkling Cyanide written by Agatha Christie. It is focus on plot as one of the element of novel. To achieve its purpose, the current research focuses to carry out the plot of competing inheritance. The data are analyzed through several progresses. Firstly, displayed the competing inheritance situation by using Freytag theory that is consist of exposition, rising action, climax, falling action and resolution. Secondly, A. J Greimas narrative structuralism theory applied to structure the plot and role-players of competing inheritance scenario. The result shows that there are 16 data found, divided in one scenario of competing inheritance. The scenario is about Victor Drake plan to get the inheritance from Rosemary and used many sides to benefit him. He acted as the waiter at the birthday party and considered his decision to murder by using the cyanide. The victims of this scenario are mainly Rosemary, George Barton and Iris Marle. Competing Inheritance could be seen from angle of victims because their life become a cost for the desire of Victor Drake to get the great number of money.
