The Principal Supervisor Dr. Suleman Bouti M.Hum. and The Co-Supervisor Fahria Malabar S.Pd., M.A. This descriptive qualitative research intends to discover the students' language of figurative and non-figurative language in creative writing and to observe deeply the language used which would enable to classify figurative language and non-figurative language from several layers of semantic analysis by using componential analysis and through several meaning such as lexical meaning, literal meaning and contextual meaning, as well as semantic roles that is examine deeply the generic structure concerned figurative language and non-figurative language. The result of the study showed that English department students tend to produced figurative language which is classified into four types those are metaphor, simile, personification, and hyperbole.
