Abstrak

This research investigated the pronunciation ability in English Club students and non-English Club students. Thus, the researcher gave two tests, namely the recognition test and production test to the English club students and non-English club students. This method used posttest only control design and also to support this research. This study was conducted at the English Department in 2016-2017 academic year. The result of research shows that the English Club students score was proven higher than students who did not joined in English Club. Students of English Club achieved 50.8% in recognition test and 85.3% in production test. Meanwhile, students who did not joined in English Club achieved 36% in recognition test and 73% in production test. This could be proven by statistical hypothesis of the research. Based on the calculation of the data by using ttest, researcher found that tcount , it was more than ttable or 5.706 2.049. It can be concluded that pronunciation can be improved by following the English Club. Keywords : English Club, students pronunciation
