This research explored the students' difficulties in listening for general communication subject. It give some information about the students' difficulties in listening skill Higgins (1995) as cited in Sisnawaty (2016, p.11) where he found three factor can affect the difficulties in listening comprehension which are vocabulary, pronunciation, and speech rate. This research was conducted by using qualitative method through interview with 25 low grade students. The results showed that the students had difficulties in vocabulary, pronunciation, and speech rate. These three aspects were the common reason argued by the students as the difficulties they had faced during listening for general communication subject. Where the students had difficulty in vocabulary in vocabulary since their limited vocabulary, the students also difficult in getting the speaker pronunciation because the lack of ability in differentiate the speakers accent and the last was difficulty on the fast speech rate of the speaker because of the confusion of the student. Therefore, it could be concluded that these three factors had strong contribution in affecting the students' difficulties in learning listening for general communication subject.
