The aim of this research is to observe the woman's image in some works of Thomas Hardy poems: The Last Leaf, The Woman in the Rye, and A Wife in London, and how the woman in Victorian era are represented in the poems. The poems are the data sources of this research. Sociology of Literature is the approach which was used in analyzing the poems, because sociology approach is literature as the mirror to age. The sociology of literature cannot be separated with the society, sociology as an approach that is still considers the literature and social aspect, this research utilized the descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected from Classic Poetry Series by Poem Hunter-The World's Poetry Archive. The researcher read the poems several times, found out whole meaning of the poems, and to depict the woman's image that contained in his poetry in observing the data. Therefore the researcher analyzed the data by using sociology approach by Swingewood (1972), to find out how the conditions of Victorian era especially the conditions of the woman at the time, and how that conditions are reflected to the works. From the data analyzed the researcher found data and dived into 2 parts. there were 6 types of characteristic belong to the characteristic of Victorian ideal woman: Submissive, passive, dependent, patiently, loving, and loyal, and 3 types of characteristic that unideal Victorian woman: complaint, hesitant and rebelled. However the 3 poems were categorized in the images of women's faithfulness
