The aims of this study are to describe the kinds of errors that the students made in translating Indonesian noun phrases into English. The source of the data in this research is the students translation result of 20 Indonesian noun phrases. As many as 15 students of English Department Universitas Negeri Gorontalo in fifth semester (the students who passed the translation course) were involved within this study. The collected data were analyzed by means of error analysis which start from collecting the data, identifying the errors from the students answer sheet, clasifying of errors based on the types, describing errors on each type and analyzing the students' errors. The result showed that there are one hundred-sixteen errors made by the students in translating Indonesian noun phrases into English. The errors are clasified into four types: omission errors with thirty six errors, addition errors with twenty-four errors, misformation errors with forty-three errors and misordering errors with thirteen errors. From the four types of errors, misformation errors have the highest number of errors and misordering is the lowest in numbers. This errors indicates that the students' average ability is still low. These errors are mostly caused by the structural differences between Indonesian and English noun phrases and the students translated the phrases into the same structures.
