The aim of this research is to describe the authentic assessment delivered by English teacher in EFL classroom. The subject of the research is one English teacher and the students of grade VIII of Junior High School in Gorontalo in 2017/2018 academic year. The method of this research was qualitative method. The data were collected through observation. The data were analyzed by using data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing/verifying based on Miles & Huberman (1992). The findings of this research showed that the English teacher implemented authentic assessment in teaching English namely; oral interview, story/text retelling, writing sample and teacher observation. However, the English teacher did not applied some of authentic assessment such as project/exhibitions, experiments/demonstration, constructed-response items, and portfolio. Therefore, it is highly recommended to the English teacher to use authentic assessment in EFL classroom. authentic assessment in 2013 curriculum focused on attitudes, knowledge and skills.
