Devie Yulianty Guntik. 321413096. 2020. "The Students' Perception towards the using Animation Movies in teaching Writing of Narrative Text" Skripsi. English Department, Faculty of Letters and Culture, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. The first advisor is Dr. Sartin T. Miolo, M.Hum and second advisor Titien F. Mohammad, S.Pd, M.App Ling.
The research aimed to see the students' perception of animation movie in teaching writing of the narrative text. It was expected to give a description of how the students' point of view during learning writing narrative text by using animation movies. It was examined through the mix method both quantitative and qualitative, the participant of this research were referred to students' at eight grade of SMP Negeri 6 Gorontalo. The researcher used questionnaire to collect the quantitative data and interview to collect the qualitative data. this research took 30 students as the participant of the questionnaire and 13 students as the participant of the interview. As the result students' perception toward the understanding of the narrative text was (87,77%) positive perception and 0% for the negative perception. students' perception toward the purpose of narrative text (63,33%) positive perception and 6,67% on the negative perception, and students' perception toward the achievement of animation movies in writing narrative text (85,25%) positive perception and 5% on the negative perception. It is also supported by the result of the qualitative analysis which shows that using animation movies in writing narrative text made the students understand the content of the story about what and how the story occurs and write into narrative text. The students also achieve the purpose of narrative text where they could entertain by the story, students could get the emotion and develop their creativity and imagination into writing text. the use of animation movies also made the students achieve better writing.
