The increasing number of foreign tourists who visit Indonesia, especially in Gorontalo leads to the major influence of the use of brochure as one of the media that will often be used. Thus, the translation plays a crucial role in delivering the intent and purpose of the brochures to potential readers. The present study intends to investigate the viewpoint of target readers regarding the text and content. The data of the study is gathered by using a qualitative method. The participants are foreign tourists who master English. Research data is collected by asking the participants to read the brochures and giving them surveys to answer about the content of the brochures, particularly the English translation. Content Analysis method by Hsieh and Shannon (2005) is used in analysing the data. The findings reveal the positive and negative readersâ responses regarding to the quality of the brochures. Non-linguistic aspect the likes, design and layout appear as the factors that most attract the readers. Whilst, on the other hand, the English translation that represents the linguistic aspect plays the second role as there are still some grammatical errors that prevented the tourist to get clear message of the brochures.
