The study intended to identify the strategies of politeness occurred in the main characters' utterances in High Strung movie. Descriptive qualitative method is applied in this research. The data were taken from the dialogue uttered by the main characters in the movie by way of observing the utterances. Brown and Levinsons theory was used as a launch pad for analyzing the data. As the result, this study revealed that ..."High Strung movie contained four strategies of politeness; they are bald on record, positive politeness, negative politeness and off record. Positive politeness was come as the strategy of politeness used the most because the movie talks about friendship, love and fighter and also the main characters have many conversations with their family, lectures and friends and was then followed by negative politeness, bald on record, and off record respectively. Politeness strategies are used to keep the hearers face in order to communication runs well and the main characters of ..."High Strung movie apply that strategies based on culture of their country.
