The objective of the research was to see the effectiveness of Using Quiz Team Method in Teaching Reading of Narrative Text at the second year students of SMPN 6 Gorontalo and also to help the English teachers create interactive activities for students while teaching reading of narrative text. The method which applied in this research was quasi-experimental research. There were used is one class pre-test post-test design that is experimental research conducted only one class. The experimental class was taught by using quiz team method. Furthermore, this research was conducted through the following procedures: giving the pre-test, applying treatments, giving post-test.
The result of the research proved that quiz team method is effective to be used in teaching reading of narrative text. According to calculation, it can be seen that the result pre-test 75% and the result post-test 86%. Moreover, the criteria used to verify the hypothesis is rejected H0 if tcount is less than ttable (tcoun> ttable). The researcher found that the tcoun is bigger than ttable or 4,275 ��¥ 2,040 with the significance �± = 0, 05. This result shows that the hypothesis of this research is accepted. Therefore, it can be inferred that Quiz Team Method is effective in teaching reading of narrative text on SMPN 6 Gorontalo. Also, it can be used by the teacher I teaching learning process at reading narrative text.
