Advisor (1) Yusna Bantulu, S.Pd., M.A. (2) Sri Widyarti Ali, S.Pd., M.Hum. This research is done to analyze the error in using preposition of place, especially in students wiring. The researcher focused on the error that occurs in the students descriptive written text. The method that is used in this research is qualitative method. The result of this research showed that out of 4 types of errors, there are 2 types of error that occurred in students writing. From 20 essays of the participants, there are 10 sentences that are classified in two types of the errors. This research also found that the participants are still made a mistake in using other types of prepositions of place but were not categorized as an error because they only made the mistakes just for once or very rarely.
