This study aims to find out the character���s personality that portrayed in the novel. As we all know, personality is an important aspect of a person. It is the combination of our inborn traits and things that happened to us. The things that we experience in our childhood contribute a great impact on our adult life (Freud: 1925). However, human behaviors that determine their personality is complex. In the novel Looking For Alaska by John Green, one of the main characters named Alaska has a complicated personality according to the other characters. She is moody, unpredictable, self-harm, and impulsive. Due to that matter, this study investigated the personality of Alaska portrayed in the novel to find out her psychological condition. The data were conducted by the qualitative method and descriptive research. Along with that, the psychoanalysis approach and the personality theory by Sigmund Freud are used in analyzing the data. The analysis showed that Alaska���s personalities are mostly influenced by her Id. She is also suffered from Neurotic anxiety and has some traits of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). In fact, her psychological condition is the result of her childhood trauma ��" her mother���s death.
