This study aims to find out the students' perception on English teaching effectiveness in the classroom activities. It attempted to address the following question: What are students' perceptions on English teaching effectiveness in the classroom activities? This study was conducted in the eighth grade at SMP Negeri 4 Kota Gorontalo. The participants of this research obtained 40 students. The data of this research were collected from questionnaire and it is consist of 20 statements. Likert scale was used to score students' answer. This study have been analyzed by using a mixed-method. The statements of the questionnaire were developed by the researcher based on Stronge, Ward, and Grant (2011) theory, which include Instructional Delivery, Student Assessment, Learning Environment, and Teacher's Personal Quality. In the indicator of Instructional delivery, there were 61.53% of the total respondent in the position of agreeing. The student assessment indicators there were 53.84% of the total respondent of agreeing. In learning environment there were 57.69% of the total respondent in the position of strongly agreed, and 61.53% of the total respondent were agreed in indicator of personal quality.
