Abstrak

Students Perceptions toward Teachers Strategies in Teaching Listening for Professional Context in Third Semester of English Department, Letters and Cultures Faculty, Gorontalo State University. Advisor (1) Nurlaila Husain, SS, M. Pd. Advisor (2) Farid Muhamad, S. Pd, M. A. This research aimed to find out the studentsperceptions toward teachers strategies in teaching listening for Professional Context classes. Further, the research was conducted at English Department in class of 2018. The participants were the students of 3rd semester which consisted of 50 students. Additionally, the method used in this research was qualitative method. Afterwards, the instruments employed in this research were interview and observation. Furthermore, the result of this research found that the students perceptions toward the teachers strategies were dominant on bottom-up processing by Richard's theory. Regarding to the table of findings, it showed that the students perceptions were bottom-up processing and top-down processing in teaching listening.
