Listening is a subject that is classified as having its own level of difficulty then other skill courses, that's why many students majoring in English education program still have difficulty in listening courses, there are many factors that affect the level of difficulty faced by students majoring in English. This study aims to find out how student perceptions about listening difficulties and the main factors that often cause students of the 2019 class of English at Gorontalo State University to experience problems in their listening skills. This study uses a qualitative method. In this study researcher used three students to be respondents, those three students� are student at English education program. The technique of collecting data was intended to collect data from respondents in order to discover the research questions. Therefore, the techniques of collecting data that had been applied on this study namely Interview, and analyzed using a thematic analysis. The findings showed that there 8 themes representating students� challenges in listening class; they were Accent, Pronounciation, Vocabulary, Not Conducive Environment, Listening Audio, The application of online class, Self Learning Method, Length and Speed of Listening. From the points above, it can be concluded that the portrayal of challenges faced by the students in the listening class was very varied.
