Principal Advisor Nurlaila Husain, S.S, M.Pd. and Farid Muhamad, S.Pd, M.A Vocabulary is the most important factor that students must master in learning a foreign language. There are so many media to learning vocabulary, one of them is song. Implementing song in language classroom is highly motivational and effective media in learning foreign language. Therefore, the researcher conducted this research aims to investigate the students' perception in teaching vocabulary through song. This research used qualitative descriptive method. The researcher collecedt the data from 25 close-ended numbers of statements from students at SMA Negeri 1 Paleleh grade XII. The researcher use data reduction, data display, and conclusion to analyze the data. And the result of this research is that song help the students to improve their vocabulary. This research suggested that song can help the teacher to improve their teaching-learning process in the listening subject, and by using song as a media to improve student vocabulary they will feel enjoy in the teaching and learning process.
