Abstract Yolinda Bangga, 2022. Student ID 321415087. The Use of Jigsaw Technique to Improve Students' Writing Ability through Narrative Text. Mohammad, S.Pd, M.App.Ling This research aimed to find out whether or not teaching narrative text using jigsaw technique improve students' writing ability in narrative text. The research was conducted at the second grade of SMPN 13 Gorontalo. The samples were grade of VIII B which consist of 30 students. The design of research used pre-experimental of one group pre-test, treatment and post-test. Besides, the instrument employed in this research was test and the data were analyzed by statistical analysis. Furthermore, the result of this research found that the students' writing ability in narrative text has improve even though not significant. Regarding to the research findings it showed that students post-test was higher with the average (35,33%) rather than pre-test with the average (26.27%). While the increase occurred in five aspects of writing, namely the aspect of content, main idea, plot, organization and sentence. Therefore, the students need to increase their ability in writing narrative text, they need to be more practice. Key words: Writing, Narrative Text, Jigsaw Technique.
