The most crucial element in understanding foreign language is vocabulary, so that is why the teachers try to be creative to teach English vocabulary to the students. Therefore, this research aimed to find out the teaching English vocabulary at Hubulo Islamic Boarding School. The participants of this research were the four English teachers who teach in Hubulo Islamic Boarding School. The techniques of collecting the data were interview, and document. The researcher used Miles and Huberman's theory (1994) in analyzing the data. She collected the data, reduced the data, displayed the data, and then made the conclusion. The findings of this research showed that the teacher 1 applied practice, guessing word, and memorization techniques, and for the media she used mobile phone, idiom dictionary, picture, and English book. The teacher 2 applied playing games, practice, translation, explain the adjectivetechniques, and for the media she used laptop or computer, and picture. Moreover, the teacher 3 applied translation technique, and laptop as the media to teach English vocabulary. For the teacher 4, she applied translation and contrast techniques, and she used media such as LCD, picture, and real thing in teaching English vocabulary. Those ways in teaching English vocabulary chosen depending on the students' situation and learning materials.
