Being fluent when speaking English is the target that many language learners aspire to, particularly in the context of English as a foreign language. In Islamic boarding school as in Indonesia, for instance, all of the students are required to master English language through daily interaction, starting from year 7 up to 12. In the context of applying English as daily interaction the students who are beginners may have limited English proficiency; thus, using English as part of their everyday means of communication can be a challenge. Therefore, the present of study seeks to discover the studentsvoices on English language uses outside classroom at one of the boarding school located in Gorontalo, henceforth refers to HB Islamic Boarding School. The participants of this study were the students of junior high school in HB Islamic Boarding school of Gorontalo. Informed by a qualitative approach, data were collected by using observation and interview, and analyzed using a thematic analysis. The findings showed that there were 6 themes representing students voices on English language uses in Islamic boarding school. They were lack of preparation, language learning preference, language use preference, English use challenges, increased English proficiency and benefits of learning English. The finding also indicated that students had negative and positive voices, the negative voices was caused by the studentsbehavior before entering and learning English in boarding school and the positive voices was when they became students in the boarding school where the environment supported them to practice English language in daily conversation. The boarding school need to create any programs that make students interest in learning English. The teachers also need to continuously create a comfortable situation in order the students enjoy the learning process.
