Abstrak

The research intended to find out the types of morphological interferens made by English Department students in their writing undergraduated thesis. The researcher focused on the theory of Carstair-McCarthy (2002) and Bay (2018) which looked at the types of interference. In hance, this research used qualitative method which analyzes the data by collecting the sources of data, identifying the types of morphological interference, describing them based on the classification and explaining the types of morphological interference based on the referencial theory. From 13 undergraduated thesis which alanyzed by the researcher, it was found that the interference frequently happened at the past tenses 40%, followed by the singular plural agreement with 20%, subject verb agreement 13,3%, incorrect of passive voice 10%, incorrect of demonstrative pronoun 8,3% and incorrect of comparative adjective 8,3%. Therefore, it was suggested to the students to pay attention to switch the linguistics form of the language based on the context of the discussion such in past form, in plural, in singular and repeated words.
