Abstrak

This research aims to find out how is the abolition of racial discrimination by white people reflected in To Kill a Mockingbird novel using genetic structuralism. To Kill a Mockingbird is a novel presents the story of racial discrimination in America in the 1930s and the effort of white people in eliminating racial discrimination. Due to that matter, this study investigated the struggle of whites in abolishing racial discrimination that reflected in the novel by using genetic structuralism approach of Lucien Goldmann. The data were conducted by qualitative method. The result of this research showed that the effort of white people in eliminating racial discrimination is not only done by one person but by a group of white people who brave enough to fight the discrimination. It is not only happened in the novel but also happened in real life which seen through the genetic structuralism that has been analyzed.
