Literary works is a study that learns about art, poetry, short stories, drama & novel. Literary works tells about the human's behaviour and human's mindset in solving the problems in real life. Mostly, the author expresses their story in life through novel. This research examined about the role conflict by main character in the novel "The Devil Wears Prada", Andrea Sach is the main character that faced role conflict in her life. The aim of this study is to find out how the role conflict influences Andrea's social life. In analyzing the data, the researcher used qualitative descriptive method. This research used Hunt & Metcalf `s theory of role conflict. The data collection used library research technique which the data is taken from a novel "The Devil Wears Prada" by Lauren Weisberger. As the result, it was found that Andrea Sach issued intrapersonal and interpersonal conflict. Moreover, the purpose from this research is to help people to understand about the role conflict that felt by other people is very stressful for people who experience it and people who feel it will change in attitudes and way of thinking
