Abstrak
Perception is the recognation and understanding of events,object from what we have seen, hear, adn touch. In education, perception is needed to make the learning process become better. Furthermore, by finding students' perception educators can indicate students' need in learning, also facilitate and fulfill students' need in learning. the aim of this research is to find out students perception on the teaching of English grammar in English department, especially in Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. The data of this research was conducted from the 40 students on the class of 2018. The participant only focused to the students who already passed base English Grammar and Advance English Grammar. The method of this current study was used qualitative method and analysed by using Thematic analysis. The results revealed that students prever to study grammar by using teacher centered learning or deductive learning method. Students also suggest that the lecturer can combined the grammar teaching process with games or quizz in order to create a fun class on the teaching English Grammar.
