The use of politeness strategies have turned into crucial issue in the conversation between the speakers and the hearer with the intention of conveys something. Therefore, this research takes the object of politeness strategy used by the characters in the movie of War Dogs as the direction which related to the pragmatic field. The researcher used descriptive qualitative approach in which the data have been collected in document analysis by the characters dialogues. This research takes all the characters utterances in the movie as the data collection. The researcher applies Brown & Levinson's theory of politeness strategy (1987) as the basic theory of analyzing the data. The results have discovered that the characters in War Dogs movie were used the two central types of politeness strategies. The strategies that used by the characters were showed in the 30 conversations that indicated as politeness strategy. Those are Positive politeness strategy and Off-record strategy. The characters provide these strategies of politeness to delivers the message to avoid the face risk or losing face. The outcome of this research is expected would show a conclusion and appropriate language toward the use of politeness strategies in the conversation for English learners.
