Abstrak
Fitriyah Ananda Lobangon, 2022. "Students' Perception in Learning Listening By Using Aniimation Video" English Department, Faculty of Letters and Culture, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. The first advisor is Dr. Jolanda H. D. Pilongo, M.Pd and the second advisor is Yusna Bantulu, S.Pd., M.A.
The aimed of this research was to elaborate the students' perception toward the use of animation video as media in learning listening process of English Department, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. The participants of this research was 16 students of class D at sixth semester in academic year 2018/2019. This research used qualitative method, the data were obtained from open-ended questionnaire. Furthermore, this research used Thematic Analysis (TA) to analyze the data. The result of this research was found 6 themes and there are 3 codes for the each themes from the students' perception toward the use of animation video in learning listening process. Moreover, there are 5 themes that consist of positive perception from the students, and the rest 3 themes are consist of negative perceptions. However, the result of the research showed that most of the students have their positive perception about the use of animation video as media in learning listening process. Most of the students agree that the use of animation video can help them easy to understand, interesting and motivated in the classroom from the picture that present also from the audio. Besides, the use of animation video in learning process also have some negative perception, such as the students do not focus the audio because can distracted on the visual, so it makes them feel bored in the classroom until feel sleepy. Therefore, the teacher or lecturer that used animation video as media in learning process have to pay attention to choose best media that interesting and enjoyable so it can makes the students focus during learning process.
