This research aimed at finding the most difficult aspects of reading comprehension faced by eight grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Botupingge. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach. The subject of this study is the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Botupingge. The sample taken in this study was class VIII C students with total 30 students. The researcher describes the student's difficulties in reading comprehension in the eight-grade of Junior High School through the data collection-reading test. Multiple-choice tests used in this research to determine students' difficulties in reading text. As the result, that the eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 Botupingge had difficulty in answering aspects of the reading comprehension test. From the five questions of reading comprehension aspects, four aspects are included in the difficult category for students. The difficulties encountered by the eighth-grade student are difficulty in answering the understanding vocabulary questions (73%), the main idea questions (75%), and detailed information questions (77%). Therefore, the most difficult aspect encountered by eighth-grade students is making inference questions (80%).
