The objectives of this research are to find out whether the use of Word Webbing technique could increase the ninth-grade students� vocabulary ability at SMPN 1 Tibawa and to find out the effectiveness of Word Webbing technique in increasing the ninth-grade students� vocabulary at SMPN 1 Tibawa�. This study is theoretically expected to give valuable information and contributions to the education and learning of English, and practically, this study is expected to give advantage for the teachers, students, writer, and other researcher to be considered as the media of learning and teaching and as well as to be the reference for the next studies that relevant with this study. This study used the pre-experimental approach. In this approach, with one group Pre-test and Post-test design which consisted of six meeting include the treatments. The sample was drawn by cluster random sampling and the total number of samples was 27 students in class 9-1. The data were collected by tests and analyzed by using SPPS version 26. The research found that the students had an average developmental vocabulary score of 6,03 on the pre-test and 8,20 on the post-test. The student's vocabulary development is 35,98%. This is supported by the larger t-test value (12.777> 2.055) than the t-table value. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis was accepted and the null hypothesis was rejected. On the other hand, this this research found that this research helped the students in the aspect of social development and teamwork, creativity, and self-confidence. Based on an analysis of the results, the researchers conclude that using Word Webbing technique increases the ninth-grade students� vocabulary of SMPN 1 Tibawa. This means Word Webbing Technique is effective to increase the students� vocabulary. keyword: Word Webbing, vocabulary, pre-experimental research, educational media.
