ABSTRACT
Reno Agustiawan, 2013: The analysis of students’ mathematic error in solving the story question in learning the system of linear equality two variables, in SMP Negeri 2 Dumoga. The problem statement is “how is the students’ mathematic error in solving the story question in learning the system of linear equality two variables in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Dumoga”? The sample is one class that consists with 25 students.
The aim of this research are to know the students’ error in solving the story question in teaching the system of linear equation two variables, to know the students’ understanding in solving mathematic error, and to know the students’ error in solving mathematic problem.
There are four indicators of students’ mathematic error. Those are (a) fact error, (b) concept error, (c) principal error, and (d) operation error. This research used two research instruments. Those (a) test for all indicators, and (b) interview for all the indicators and as the supporting data.
From this research, it is concluded that students’ mathematic error in material about linier equation system two variables was still high.
