Komunikasi dalam matematika sangat diperlukan untuk mencapai hasil dari proses pembelajaran, akan tetapi komunikasi matematis siswa belum berkembang dalam proses pembelajaran, sehingga komunikasi matematis siswa masih terbilang minim atau rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran Think Talk Write dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan pembelajaran ekspositori pada mata pelajaran matematika khususnya pada materi prisma tegak dan limas pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Kota Gorontalo.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain penelitian Posttest Only Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Gorontalo Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014 dan Sampel penelitian diambil 2 kelas dengan cara tehnik Cluster Simple Random Sampling. Data yang terkait dianalisis dengan uji t idependen.
Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai thitung = 2,06 dan nilai ttabel = 1,68 atau thitung > ttabel. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran Think Talk Write lebih tinggi dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran ekspositori.

Communication in mathematical is required to achieve result in learning, but students have not develoved mathematical communication in the learning process. purpose of this study to determine the ability of students' mathematical communication that learned by using learning strategy think-talk and write mathematical communication skills of students who learned with using expository teaching in mathematics, especially in prisma tegak and limas on prisma tegak and limas on students of class VIII SMP N 7 Kota Gorontalo. The method of research was experiment method with posttes only control group design. The population of research was all student of class VIII SMP Negeri 7 Kota Gorontalo in 2013/2014 academic years. The samples of research consisted of 2 classes gained through cluster simple random sampling. The relate data were analyzed by applying independent t-test.
Based on result of data analysis thitung = 2,08 and ttabel = 1,68 or thitung â ttabel. So it can be concluded that students mathematical communication skills are learned with using the strategy think talk write is higher than the students mathematical communication skill of students who learned with using expository teaching strategy.
