Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika pada materi kubus dan balok kelas VIIIB SMP Negeri 2 Paguyaman Pantai dengan menggunakan model penmbelajaran penemuan terbimbing. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIIIB dengan jumlah siswa 19 orang. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan 5 kali pertemuan dengan menggunakan model penemuan terbimbing. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pengamatan atau observasi dan pemberian tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pada akhir pembelajaran siklus I, kriteria penilaian pada hasil pengamatan kegiatan guru diperoleh kriteria penilaian baik mencapai 52,5 %. Hasil pengamatan kegiatan siswa diperoleh criteria penilaian baik mencapai 66,7 %. Hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I diperoleh 63 % atau 12 siswa mencapai kriteria ketuntatasan minimal atau memperoleh nilai 70 dan 37 % atau 7 siswa belum mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimal atau memperoleh nilai < 70. Dengan demkian disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pembelajaran pada siklus I belum mencapai indikator keberhasilan, sehingga perlu dilanjutkan pada siklus II. Hasil pengamatan kegiatan guru dan kegiatan siswa pada siklus II, kriteria penilaian pada hasil pengamatan kegiatan guru diperoleh kriteria penilaian baik mencapai 96 %. Hasil pengamatan kegiatan siswa diperoleh kriteria penilaian baik mencapai 93,75 %. Hasil belajar siswa pada siklus II diperoleh 89,47 % atau 17 siswa mencapai kriteria ketuntatasan minimal atau memperoleh nilai 70 dan 10,53 % atau 2 siswa belum mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimal atau memperoleh nilai < 70. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pembelajaran pada siklus II sudah mencapai indikator keberhasilan. This study intends to increase students learning outcome of Mathematics subject in topic of cubes and blocks in VIIIB class of SMP Negeri 2 Paguyaman Pantai by implementing guided discovery learning model. The class-action research involved all 19 students of VIIIB class as the research subject and conducted in two cycle, each within five meetings of treatment.Moreover, the data were collected by observation and test.The result shows that at the end of cycle I treatment, the observation result of teachers activity scores 52.5%, categorized as good; moreover, the result of students activity is in 66.7%, categorized as good. In cycle I treatment, 12 students (63%) are able to pass the minimum learning mastery of 70, meanwhile 7 (37%) do not pass the minimum mastery. This concludes that the cycle I treatment did not achieve the expected indicator, therefore, it is needed to progress to cycle II treatment. Further, at the end of cycle II treatment, the observation result of teachers activity increases to 96%, categorized as good; it is followed by the result of students activity which increases to 93.75%, categorized as good.During this cycle, 17 students (89.47%) pass the minimum learning mastery of 70, meanwhile 2 (10.53%) are incapable of passing the minimum mastery, scoring below 70. Henceforth, it signifies that the cycle II treatment has meet the expected indicators. Consequently, this is to say that the implementation of guided discovery learning model is capable of increasing students learning outcome in the research site.
