WIDYA, 2016. Pengaruh Pendekatan Saintifik Terhadap Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis Siswa (penelitian yang dilakukan di Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Gorontalo). Skripsi. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana kemampuan siswa dalam mengkoneksikan masalah matematis dengan menggunakan pendekatan saintifik dan pendekatan ekspositori pada pelajaran matematika khususnya pada materi bangun ruang beraturan pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Kota Gorontalo.
Meteode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain penelitian Posttest Only Control Group Desain. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Gorontalo tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 yang terdiri dari 10 kelas yang berjumlah 327 orang dan sampel penelitian diambil dua kelas dengan cara tehknik cluster random sampling diperoleh kelas VIII-9 yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan pendekatan saintifik dan VIII-6 kelas yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan pendekatan ekspositori. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa tes essay terdiri dari 8 butir soal. Instrument ini telah memenuhi syarat validitas butir dan realibilitas instrumen. Analisis data untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian dilakukan menggunakan uji-t 2 sampel bebas (indepensen t-test).
Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pendekatan saintifik lebih tinggi daripada kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang dibelajarkan menggunakan pendekatan ekspositori. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan saintifik lebih unggul digunakan pada materi bangun ruang beraturan.

This research aims at investigating the difference of ability to connect mathematics problem between students who are treated by scientifict approach and those who are treated by expository approach patycuralry on irregular geometri topic at grade VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Kota Gorontalo.
This research uses experimental design with posttest Only Control Group Design. The research population are all students from 10 classes of grade VIII in SMP Negeri 2 Kota Gorontalo in 2015/2016 academic ear amounted to 327 students. The research sample are 2 classes collected through cluster random sampling technique. Then it gains class VIII-9 as class treated by scientifict approach model and class VIII-6 as class treated by Expository approach. The instrument applied in this research is essay test consisting of 8 items. This instrument has been fulfilled the items validity and instrument reliability prerequirement. In edition, data analysis to teset research hypotess uses independent two-sample t test (independent t-test).
The data analysis result shows that mathematics connection ability of students who are treated by scientifict approach is higher than those who are treated by expository approach. This finding reveals that the application of scientifict approach is better in teaching irregular geometry.
