Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Talking Stick dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran langsung pada materi matriks. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan desain penelitian pretest postest conrol group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMK Negeri 1 Bulango Utara tahun ajaran 2016/2017 yang berjumlah 155 siswa dan tersebar dalam 6 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang berbentuk essay. Instrumen ini telah memenuhi syarat validitas butir
dan relibilitas instrumen. Berdasarkan hasil analisis deskriptif diperoleh bahwa skor rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Talking Stick lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran langsung. Berdasarkan analisis inferensial ANKOVA 1 Jalur diperoleh model regresi untuk kelas Eksperimen Y ... = 10,58 + 1,44X dan kelas kontrol Y ...= 5,943 + 1,507X dengan demikian koefisien regresi untuk kedua kelas bernilai positif dan berdasarkan hasil uji homogenitas gradien regresi diperoleh kedua kelas homogen (memiliki gradien yang sama). Pengujian hipotesis diperoleh Fhitung> Ftabel atau 10,93> 4,055 dengan demikian H0 ditolak yang berarti terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Talking Stick dan model pembelajaran langsung setelah mengontrol pretest.

This study is aimed at determining whether or not there are differences in students' problem-solving skills in mathematics after the implementation of Talking Stick cooperative learning model in the lesson about matrix. This experimental study employed pre-test and post-test control group design. The population involved a total of 155 students at grade X in the academic year of 2016/2017, at SMK Negeri 1 Bulango Utara; these students were from six classes. The sample was selected by using simple random sampling method. Furthermore, the data were from essay tests measuring the students' problem-solving skills in mathematics. This test has met the criteria of instruments, e.g., test validity and reliability. The results of the analysis reveal that the students' average score on the lesson after the implementation of Talking Stick cooperative learning model is higher than other students who are taught by direct learning model in terms of the problem-solving skills in mathematics. Moreover, the inferential analysis of One-Line ANACOVA results in a regression model for the experimental class Y ...=10.58 + 1.44X, while the result of the control class is Y ...= 5.943 + 1.507X. In other words, the regression coefficient for the two classes holds a positive value. In addition, the results of homogeneity test of regression gradient reveal that the two classes have the same gradient (homogeneous). The hypothesis testing shows that Fcount > Ftable or 10.93 > 4.055, meaning that H0 is rejected and, therefore, implies that there are differences between the students' problem solving skills in mathematics after the implementation of Talking Stick cooperative learning model in Matrix learning material and those who are taught by direct learning method after the pre-test..
