Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Botupingge pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2021/2022 dengan tujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara gaya kognitif siswa dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika pada materi pola bilangan. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan pendekatan korelasional. Instrumen yang dipakai untuk mengumpulkan data penelitian menggunakan angket dan tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial. Analisis deskriptif digunakan untuk menyanyikan data hasil penelitian dalam bentuk mean, median, modus, serta standar deviasi. Untuk pengujian hipotesis penelitian menggunakan analisis inferensial. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa ada hubungan antara gaya kognitif siswa dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Hal tersebut bisa dilihat dari nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,65. Gaya kognitif juga memberikan kontribusi sebesar 42,25 % terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika melalui hubungan linier Y ��=26,08+2,11X.

This research was carried out at SMP Negeri 1 Botupingge in the odd semester of the academic year of 2021/2022. This study aims to determine the relationship between students��� cognitive style and mathematical problem-solving ability on number pattern material. This research applied a survey method with a correlational approach. The instruments used to collect research data were questionnaires and test. Descriptive and inferential analytical methods were employed in data analysis approaches. The data are presented using descriptive analysis in the form of mean, median, mode, and standard deviation. Inferential analysis is used to test the research hypothesis. The results of the study indicated that there was a relationship between students��� cognitive style and mathematical problem-solving ability. This is proven by the correlation coefficient value of 0,65. In addition, the cognitive style also contributes 42,25% to the improvement of mathematical problem-solving ability through a linear relationship of Y ��=26,08+2,11X.
