Abstrak
ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini membandingkan analisis diskriminan dan analisis regresi logistik multinomial untuk mengelompokkan siswa MAN Model Gorontalo ke dalam jurusan IPA, IPS, Bahasa atau Agama. Data yang digunakan adalah nilai rata-rata raport, nilai baca alquran, nilai performance, nilai wawancara dan nilai tes potensi akademik siswa kelas X MAN Model Gorontalo tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penjurusan siswa dan memberikan gambaran tentang perbandingan hasil klasifikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel yang secara signifikan mempengaruhi penjurusan di MAN Model Gorontalo dengan menggunakan metode analisis diskriminan dan regresi logistik multinomial sama yaitu variabel nilai rata-rata raport, nilai performance dan nilai tes potensi akademik. Analisis diskriminan dan regresi logistik multinomial merupakan dua metode yang dapat digunakan sebagai metode pengklasifikasian objek, sehingga kedua metode tersebut dapat dibandingkan berdasarkan ketepatan pengelompokkanya. Hasil perbandingan kedua metode ini menunjukkan bahwa ketepatan klasifikasi pada analisis diskriminan sama dengan analisis regresi logistik multinomial yaitu 53.6%. Akan tetapi metode analisis regresi logistik lebih mudah digunakan karena tidak memiliki asumsi yang harus dipenuhi sedangkan analisis diskriminan memiliki dua asumsi yaitu berdistribusi normal multivariat dan kesamaan matriks varians kovarians.

ABSTRACT
This study compares discriminant analysis and multinomial logistic regression analysis to classify students of MAN Model Gorontalo into Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Languages or Islamic Studies majors. The data used were the average scores of the progress report, Al-Quran recitation, performance, interview, and academic potential of class X students MAN Model Gorontalo academic year 2016/2017. This research aims to determine the factors that influence the majors of students and provide an overview of the comparison of the classification results. The results of this study indicate that the variables significantly affect the majors in the research area using discriminant analysis and multinomial logistic regression are the same as the average scores of the progress report, performance, and academic potential test. Discriminant anylisis and multinomial logistic regression are two methods that can be used as object classification methods thus the two methods can be compared based on the grouping provisions. The comparation result of both methods shows that the determination of the classification in the determinant alyisis with the multinomial logistic regression analysis is 53%. However, the logical regression analysis method is easer to use because it has no assumptions to be fulfilled whereas discriminant analysis has two assumptions: multivariate normal distribution and matrix equality of the covariance variance.
