Penelitian bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan antara hasil belajar siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation (GI) dengan hasil belajar siswa yang dibelajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan rancangan Posttest Only Control Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini meliputi keseluruhan siswa kelas VIII yang ada di SMP Negeri 2 Kwandang yang berjumlah 177 siswa dan terdistribusi pada 6 kelas. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII1 dengan jumlah 30 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII3 dengan jumlah 27 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Sampel ini ditentukan dengan menggunakan tekhnik cluster random sampling yaitu dengan cara mengundi kelas yang akan dijadikan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa tes essay. Tes diberikan kepada siswa yang berada dikelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sebanyak 1 kali yaitu pada akhir materi pembelajaran. Dari hasil analisis pengujian hipotesis pada taraf signifikan, > diperoleh thitung tdaftar yaitu 2,96 > 2,02. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation (GI) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw. The study aimed to examine the differences between student learning outcomes that learned by using cooperative learning model Group Investigation (GI) with the learning outcomes of students that learned using cooperative learning model jigsaw. The method used is an experimental method to design Posttest Only Control Design. The population in this study include the entire eighth grade students in Junior High School 2 Kwandang which totaled 177 students and distributed in 6 classes. The sample in this study is the number of VIII1 class of 30 students as experimental class and class VIII3 the number of grade 27 students as control. These samples were determined using cluster random sampling technique is by way of a class that will be a raffle experimental classes and control classes. Data collection is done by using the instrument in the form of an essay test. The test is given to students who are in class experimental and control classes 1 times that at the end of the learning materials.
