Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar Cu dan Pb dari limbah laboratorium kimia Universitas Negeri Gorontalo di dalam badan air selokan. Penelitian dilakukan selang bulan Februari - Maret 2014. Analisis kandungan logam dalam penelitian ini menggunakan spektrofotometer serapan atom. Preparasi sampel dilakukan dengan penyaringan dan destruksi menggunakan larutan asam nitrat pekat sampai diperoleh larutan sejati yang jernih, setelah itu diencerkan dengan aquades hingga 50 mL. Pengukuran kadar Cu dan Pb sampel pada spektrofotometer serapan atom dengan panjang gelombang masing-masing 324,8 nm dan 283,3 nm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar Cu di dalam badan air selokan berkisar antara 0,022-0,093 ppm, sedangkan kadar Pb berkisar antara 0,005-0,056 ppm. Kandungan Cu dan Pb tersebut masih sangat jauh dari nilai ambang batas maksimum masing-masing 5 ppm dan 2 ppm, berdasarkan data baku mutu air limbah oleh Keputusan Mentri Negara KLH No. Kep02/Men/KLH/1988.

Mardjan Paputungan, M.Si and co supervisor was Hendri Iyabu, S.Pd, M.Si.
The research aimed to understand Cu and Pb contents from chemical laboratory waste of Universitas Negeri Gorontalo in the ditch water body. The research was conducted from February to March in 2014. The analysis of metal content used atomic absorbing spectrophotometer. Preparation of sample was done by filtering and destruction using concentrated nitric acid solution till it was gained clear solution and then diluted with distilled water for 50 mL. The measurement of Cu and Pb contend of samples by atomic absorbing spectrophotometer in wafelength, respectively, were 324,8 nm and 283,3 nm. The result showed that Cu content in the ditch water was about 0,022-0,093 ppm, while Pb content was about 0,005-0,056 ppm. Content of Cu and Pb were obviousle far from maximum thershold value as Cu stands in 5 ppm and Pb stands in 2 ppm based on standard data of waste water by ministerial decree states KLH No. Kep02/Men/KLH/1988.
