Fazri A. Thaib, 2018 : ..."Analisis Kadar Etanol Hasil Proses Fermentasi Pada Eceng Gondok (Eichhornia Crassipes) Bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar glukosa dan kadar etanol hasil proses fermentasi pada eceng gondok dengan menggunakan analisa Gas Chromatography (GC).
Eceng gondok (Eichhornia Crassipes) merupakan tumbuhan yang digolongkan sebagai gulma perairan dan dapat berkembang biak sangat cepat (3% per hari). Eceng gondok memiliki kandungan selulosa (60%), hemiselulosa (8%), dan lignin (17%). Selulosa yang terkandung dalam eceng gondok dapat diolah menghasilkan bioethanol. Proses pembuatan bioethanol dilakukan dalam empat tahap yaitu preatreatment, hidrolisis, fermentasi dan destilasi. Proses preatreatment dilakukan dengan menggunakan larutan NaOH 5% untuk menghasilkan selulosa. Proses preatreatment yang dimaksud untuk mengurangi jumlah kandungan lignin yang terikat dengan selulosa. Hasil preatreatment dihirolisis dengan menggunakan larutan H2SO4 2% pada temperature 100C. selanjutnya hasil hidrolisis difermentasi menggunakan ragi Saccharomyces cerevisiae dan Pichia stipitis (1:1). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar yang terukur sebesar 30,132 % dan hasil analisa Gas Chromatography (GC) menunjukkan kadar etanol yang terukur sebesar 21.929 % pada eceng gondok kering dengan waktu fermentasi 24 jam.

Fazri A. Thaib 2018: ..."An Analysis Of Ethanol Level As The Result Of Fermentation Process On Water Hyacinth (Eichornia Crassipes). It aims to find out glucose and ethanol level as the result of the fermentation process on water hyacinth with the use of Gas Chromatography analysis (GC)
Water hyacinth (Eichornia Crassipes) is a plant that is categorized as aquatic weeds and can breed very fast (3% per day). Water hyacinth has cellulose content (60%), hemicellulose (8%), lignin (17%). The cellulose contained in water hyacinth can be processed to produce bioethanol. The process of bioethanol making is done trough 4 phases which are pre-treatment, hydrolysis, fermentation, and distillation. The pre-treatment process is done by the use of NaOH solution of 5% to produce cellulose. The pre-treatment process is meant to decrease the amount of lignin which is bound to cellulose. The pre-treatment result is hydrolyzed with the use of H2SO4 2% on the temperature of 100 degre celcius. Furthermore, the hydrolysis result is fermented with yeast Saccharomyces Cerevisiae and Pichia Stipites (1:1). The findings show that the level measurd is 30,132% and the analysis result of Gas Chromatography (GC) shows the ethanol level measured is 21,929% on dried water hyacinth with the duration of fermentation is 24 hours.
