Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi reaksi redoks. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Eksperimen dengan desain Non equivalent Control Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X IPA 4 dan X IPA 2 SMA Negeri 2 Limboto. Data penelitian diperoleh dari hasil pretes dan postes. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh siswa kelas eksperimen 76,8 dan kelas kontrol yaitu 70,1. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t pada taraf signifikan ( = 0,05) diperoleh nilaithitung> ttabel yaitu 3,12>1,67. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah (PBL) terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi redoks.

The study was aimed at investigating the influence of problem-based learning toward critical thinking skills of students in redox reaction topic. It applied quasi-xperimental method with Non-Equivalent Control design. The research subjects were students of class of X IPA 4 and X IPA 2, SMA Negeri 2 Limboto. The data of research were from the results of pretest and posttest. Based on data analysis result, the average score obtained by students in the experimental class was 76.8 and control class was 70.1. The hypothesis verification result using t-test with significance level or at 0.05 revealed that tcount was higher than ttable or 3.12> 1.67. Hence, it could be concluded that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted indicating that there was an influence of problem-based learning toward critical thinking skills of students in redox reaction topic.
