Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Group Investigation berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa pada materi reaksi redoks. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian menggunakan metode Quasy Eksperimen dan menggunakan desain penelitian Control Group Pretest-postest Design . Sampel berjumlah 50 siswa yang terbagi atas kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen menerapkan model pembelajaran Group Investigation berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) sedangkan kelas kontrol dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes yang terdiri dari 5 butir soal essay yang mencakup indikator pemecahan masalah yakni mengidentifikasi masalah, merencanakan suatu penyelesaian, menyelesaikan masalah dan membuat kesimpulan. Hasil uji validitas tes menunjukkan sebanyak 5 butir soal valid dan hasil realibilitas tes menunjukkan tingkat reliabilitas sebesar 0,6585 dengan kategori tinggi/baik. Analisis statistik uji t-independen digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pada taraf signifikan = 0,05 dengan dk = 48 diperoleh nilai thitung > t tabel atau 12,8285 > 1,67722, maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Group Investigation berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada materi reaksi redoks. Nilai n-gain pada kelas eksperimen yaitu 0,73 (kategori tinggi) sedangkan kelas kontrol yaitu 0,57 (kategori sedang). Kesimpulan, penerapan model pembelajaran Group Investigation berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa pada materi reaksi redoks.

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of learning Group Investigation model based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) to the problem solving skills of class X students in SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa on redox reaction material. This research is a quantitative research with the type of research using Quasy Experimental method and using Pretest-postttest Design Control Group design research. The sample is 50 students divided into experiment class and control class. The experimental class applies the Group Investigation model based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) while the control class with the conventional learning model. The data collection technique uses a test instrument consisting of 5 essay items that include problem solving indicators that identify problems, plan a solution, solve problems and make conclusions. Test validity test results showed as many as 5 items of validity and reliability test results showed a level of reliability of 0.6585 with high / good category. Statistical analysis of t-independent test was used to test the research hypothesis. The result of data analysis show that at significant level = 0,05 with dk = 48 obtained tcount t table or 12,8285 > 1,67722, then H0 rejected and Ha accepted that there is influence of applying Group Investigation model based on Problem Based Learning (PBL ) to students problem solving abilities on redox reaction materials. The n-gain value in the experimental class is 0.73 (high category) while the control class is 0.57 (medium category). In conclusion, the application of Group Investigation model based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) gives positive influence to problem solving ability of grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa on redox reaction material.
