Abstrak
Dewi Saskia Mamonto. 2022. Deskripsi Kemampuan Kognitif Siswa Dalam Menyelesaikan Soal HOTS Pada Materi Laju Reaksi di SMA Negeri 4 Gorontalo. Skripsi, Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia, Jurusan Kimia, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Pembimbing I Prof. Dr. Astin Lukum, M.Si. dan Pembimbing II Drs. Mangara Sihaloho, M.Pd. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan Kognitif Siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal HOTS pada materi Laju Reaksi di SMA Negeri 4 Gorontalo. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes essai High Order Thinking Skills pada materi laju Reaksi. Sampel yang digunakan 85 responden terdiri dari siswa kelas XI IPA 1 sampai dengan XI IPA 4. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan capaian kemampuan kognitif siswa yaitu 42% termasuk pada kategori kurang. pada indikator menganalisis memperoleh rata-rata 50% yang masing-masing memiliki capaian 34% dan 65%. Pada indikator menyimpulkan memperoleh rata-rata 40% yang masing-masing memiliki capaian 49% dan 31%, dan pada indikator memprediksikan memperoleh capaian 32%. Rata-rata siswa dengan rentang nilai 0-20 terdapat 6 siswa dengan kategori sangat kurang, 21-40 terdapat 36 siswa dengan kategori kurang, 41-60 terdapat 41 siswa dengan kategori cukup, 61-80 hanya terdapat 2 siswa dengan kategori baik, dan rentang nilai 81-100 tidak ada siswa yang memperoleh kategori sangat baik.

Abstract. Description of Students' Cognitive Ability in Solving HOTS-oriented Questions on rate of Reaction Topic at SMA Negeri 4 Gorontalo. Undergraduate Thesis, Study Program of Chemistry Education, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, State University of Gorontalo. The Principal Supervisior is Prof. Dr. Astin Lukum, M.Sc. and the Co supervisior is Drs. Mangara Sihaloho, M.Pd. This research aims at describing students������ cognitive abilities in solving HOTS-oriented quations on the rate of reaction material at SMA Negeri 4 Gorontalo. This research is a qualitatieve descriptive study. The research employs essays to test the High Order Thinking Skills on the rate of reaction topic. Samples are 85 respondents consisting of students from the 11 th grade of natural science 1 and 4. Findings reveal that������s 42% of students` cognitive abilities are in the poor category. In the analysis indicator, it obtains an average of 50%, each each of which achieves 34% and 65%. In the inference indicator, it obtains an average of 40%, each of which achieves 49% and 31%. Meanwhile, the prediction indicator, obtains an average score of 32%. Furthermore, 6 students are in very poor category obtaining the average score of 0-20. 36 students are in poor category obtaining the score of 21-40. 41 students are sufficient category obtaining the score of 41-60. 2 students are in good category obtaining the score of 61-80, and no student in in very good category obtaining the score of 81-100.
