Sri Yulan Yahya. 2014. Deskripsi keterampilan membimbing diskusi kelompok kecil dalam pembelajaran geografi di Sekolah Menengah Atas Se-Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara. Skripsi, Program Studi S1 Pendidikan Geografi Jurusan Ilmu dan Teknologi Kebumian, Fakultas Matematika dan IPA, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Pembimbing I Dr.Masri Kudrat Umar S.Pd, M.Pd dan Pembimbing II Nova Ntobuo S.Pd, M.Pd.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk memberikan gambaran tentang keterampilan guru membimbing diskusi kelompok kecil dalam pembelajaran geografi di Sekolah Menengah Atas, untuk mengetahui aspek-aspek apa saja yang perlu diperbaiki agar keterampilan guru membimbing diskusi kelompok kecil dalam pembelajaran geografi di Sekolah Menengah Atas menjadi lebih baik, untuk mengetahui perbaikan aspek-aspek keterampilan membimbing diskusi kelompok kecil dalam pembelajaran geografi. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu instrumen lembar observasi guru dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian untuk indikator memusatkan perhatian kriteria yang menonjol adalah kriteria baik yakni sebesar 45.24, Memperjelas masalah atau urunan pendapat mendapat kriteria baik sebesar 40.48, menganalisis pandangan siswa mendapat kriteria sangat baik sebesar 45.24, meningkatkan partisipasi siswa mendapat kriteria sangat baik sebesar 42.86, menyebarkan kesempatan berpartisipasi mendapat kriteria baik sebesar 35.71, diskusi berlangsung dalam iklim terbuka mendapat kriteria kurang sebesar 45.2, perencanaan dan persiapan yang matang mendapat kriteria baik sebesar 45.24, menutup diskusi mendapat kriteria kurang yakni 38.1. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan dasar guru mengajar perlu ditingkatkan mengingat masih ada aspek yang perlu diperbaiki yaitu diskusi berlangsung dalam iklim terbuka dan menutup diskusi, agar materi tersebut dapat dimengerti dan dipahami oleh siswa.

The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the skills of teachers to guide small group discussions in geography teaching in high school, to know the aspects that need to be repaired so that the skills of teachers to guide small group discussions in geography teaching in high school to be better , to know the repair aspects guiding small group discussion skills in teaching geography. The instrument used for data collection in this study is the observation sheet instruments and interview teachers. Based on the results of research to focus indicator criteria that stands out is a good criterion which is equal to 45.24, Clarify the issue or opinion urunan got a good criterion for 40.48, analyze the views of students got a very good criterion for 45.24, increasing student participation criteria very well received by 42.86, spreading opportunity participates gets a good criterion for 35.71, discussions took place in an open climate gets very good criteria for 35.71, planning and preparation gets good criteria for 45.24, closing the discussion gets less criteria namely 38.1. Based on the results of this study concluded that teachers teach the basic skills need to be improved considering there are still aspects that need to be improved, namely closing the discussion, so that the material can be understood by students.
