Abstrak
ABSTRAK
Sadam Salihi 2015. Kajian sosial ekonomi, budaya dan kearifan lokal masyarakat dalam budidaya jagung di Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara Provinsi Gorontalo. Skripsi Program Studi S1 Pendidikan Geografi, Jurusan Ilmu Dan Teknologi Kebumian, Fakultas Matematika Dan IPA, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Dibimbing oleh Dr. Sunarty S. Eraku, M.Pd dan Dr. Eng. Sri Maryati, S.Si.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi sosial, ekonomi, budaya dan kearifan local masyarakat dalam budidaya jagung di Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara Provinsi Gorontalo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu analisis deskriptif dan pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan secara keruangan. Jumlah sampel sebanyal 140 responden petani jagung yang ada di Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan a) kondisi sosial: kelompok umur petani jagung di Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara didominasi oleh kelompok umur 33-40 tahun sebanyak 30% dan kelompok umur terendah 16-24 tahun sebanyak 2%. Pendidikan formal petani jagung sebagian besar hanya sampai tingkat sekolah dasar dengan persentase 53%. Pekerjaan pokok di dominasi oleh sektor pertanian sebanyak 81%. Jumlah anggota rumah tangga sebagian besar berjumlah 4 orang b) Kondisi ekonomi: pendapatn utama petani jangung yang ada di kabupaten gorontalo utara rata-rata Rp. 30.104.000per tahuh. Kepemilikan lahan sebagian besar berstatus bagi hasil dengan persentase 95,45% sedangkan jumlah pengeluaran sebanyak Rp. 1.393.591per bulan. c) Kondisi budaya dan kearifan local kebiasaan dan tradisi dalam pengolahan jagung 97,27 petani melihat perbintangan saat menanam jagung. Teknologi inovasi dalam budidaya tanaman jagung 93,63% menggunakan pajeko (sapi).

This research aims at investigating condition of social, economics, culture and Local Wisdom in corn Cultivation in District of Gorontalo Utara. Gorontalo province. this is a desctritipe research with spatial approach. Samples of the research are 140 respondents of corn farmers in district of Gorontalo utara. Research findings reveal that a) Social condition: Group age of corn parmers in disctrict of Gorontalo utara is dominatet by 33-40 yo for 30% and the lowest is 16-24 yo for 2%. Formal education of the corn parmers is mostly only elementary school graduatet of 81%. Meanwhile, the family members are Mostly 4 people b) economics condition: annual major income of the corn farmers in District of Gorontalo Utara is IDR. 30. 104.000. Monstly land ownership is in profit sharing for percentange of 95,45% while monthly amount of the expenditure is IDR. 1.393.591. c) Culture and Local Wisdom condition are habit and tradition in processing the corn is 97,27%, the farmers look at the astrology when planting the corn. 93,63% of innovation of tecnology in corn cultivation is done by using cow.
