Abstrak
Segment of Sultan Botutihe street is a street with the crowd levels are high because of its central trade Gorontalo Business Park in the city of Gorontalo . As a center of trade, these conditions lead to increased traffic flow due to the pull of travel and land-use on-street parking, which causes the high side barriers that can affect the level of service.
This study intends to research the effect of side friction on the level of service the Sultan Botutihe Gorontalo city. Stages survey of geometric data retrieval. Survey vehicles passing through Sultan Botutihe street done three days (Sunday, Wednesday, Friday) for 6 hours (06:00 to 8:00, 11:00 to 13:00, 17:00 to 7:00 p.m.). Survey data were analyzed using methods IHCM 1997.
The results of the analysis of the data, obtained by the maximum traffic volume on Wednesday, 18:00 to 19:00 pm at 2508 veh / hour or 1165 pcu / hour, less than the value obtained capacity 2383 pcu /hour, the speed of light vehicles slowed the average value of travel time average of 23 seconds. Side friction that occurs is very high with the commercial conditions of the market activity on the side frictiont. The degree of saturation values obtained with the level of service C 0.49 less than 0.75 set in IHCM 1997. This means that the segment of Sultan Botutihe street still eligible IHCM 1997.
