ABSTRACT
This research aims to investigate quality of environmental setting and scope of activity that are caused by road construction in village of Ponelo and to investigate way of environmental management as well as its monitoring effort at road construction project in village of Ponelo. This research applies field survey research by having primary data that are collected through observation, interview and documentation and secondary data that comprises population data, climate, air quality and socioeconomic. The data analysis applies quantitative descriptive analysis which encompasses quality of environmental setting of village of Ponelo and effort of effect management of Road Construction in Village of Ponelo.
Research findings are 1. Environmental setting of road construction location in Village of Ponelo has been acknowledged ind good category, either based on society's perception, air quality and water quality. 2. Effort of management to perevent, control and overcome negative effect as well as to develop positive effect are by doing obvious and transparent socialization started from pre-construction stage to post-construction to society, doing the construction activity only in daytime in terms of keeping quality of air to be under ambient (outdoor) air quality, prioritizing local society as labors, utilizing local society service for daily need provision for labors such as food, beverages and other needs.
