Equivalence of Passenger Cars (emp) for Motorized Pedicabs at an Unsignalized
Intersection on Brigjen Piola Isa Avenue- Tinaloga Avenue, Gorontalo Province.

The equivalent value of passenger cars (emp) varies based on the type of vehicle,
type of road, and the volume of the planning hour (vehicle/hour). Especially for
the unsignalized two-lane two-way three-armed intersection with two types of
approaching major roads (main) and one type of approaching minor roads. The
purpose of this study was to analyze the equivalent value of passenger cars (emp)
of motorized pedicabs and the performance at the three-armed intersection of
Brigien Piola Isa Avenue - Tinaloga Avenue, Gorontalo Province.
This research was carried out at the unsignalized three-armed intersection of
Brigjen Piola Isa Avenue - Tinaloga Avenue. The researcher collected traffic
volume data. The analysis was carried out using a simple linear regression
analysis method with the guidance of the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual
MKJI 1997.
Based on the results of the calculation of the equivalent value of a passenger car
(emp) at the unsignalized three-armed intersection of Brigjen Piola Isa Avenue -
Tinaloga Avenue, the equivalent value of a passenger car (emp) for motorized
pedicab is 0.311. The results of the analysis of the performance of the
unsignalized three-armed intersection of Brigjen Piola Isa Avenue - Tinaloga
Avenue obtained the value of the intersection delay (D) = 33.25. The result of the
value of the intersection delay showed that the unsignalized three-armed
intersection of Brigjen Piola Isa Avenue - Tinaloga Avenue is in the category D of
service level and still needs more attention for traffic services during peak hours.
