Abstrak
Bolango River has 38,37 km long and becomes one of the rivers whose potential continues to be developed in Gorontalo Province. Lomaya Weir is located in the river flow of Bolango, which is used to fulfill irrigation water for rice fields in the downstream area. Sedimentation in the Bolango River brought a decrease in the performance of Lomaya Weir since the silting up occurs in the upstream weir. The research is aimed at analyzing the sediment characteristics, finding out the amount of sediment transport, and analyzing the load time of sediment transport in the Lomaya Weir Bolango River.
The research conducted a direct measurement in the upstream weir of Lomaya to obtain the characteristics of bad load. Sample containing sediment was examined in the laboratory to obtain water content, mud content, unit weight, specific gravity, and grain size distribution (d����¯�¿�½�¯�¿�½����¯�¿�½..., d����¯�¿�½...����¯�¿�½�¯�¿�½, d����¯�¿�½�¯�¿�½����¯�¿�½..., d����¯�¿�½�¯�¿�½����¯�¿�½�¯�¿�½). The data were calculated using empirical formula by Mayer-Peter and Mueller, Einstein, and Engelund and Hansen.
The result of the sample examination revealed that the characteristics of sediment had 14,84% of averaged water content, while the grain size was less than 4mm, and 2,65 of averaged specific gravity, which indicated the classification of sand. The amount of bad load transport with the measurement using Meyer-Peter and Mueller formula obtained 1.720,95 tons/year. Einstein formula obtained 135,461,79 tons/year. and Engelund and Hansen formula obtained 1.231.22 tons/year. The full load of the Lomaya Weir took ������± 44,155 months using Meyer-Peter and Mueller method, Einstein method took ������± 0,624 month, and Engelund and Hansen method took ������± 61,698 months.
